Soldering the DIMM Connector

Next you should solder the DIMM connector to the board. Make sure that your DIMM connector does not have any bent pins, as they bend quite easily. When you place the connector into the outline on the board, it should fall in easily and require no force.


Holding the connector with your hand, solder it in a few locations so that it stays in place when you flip the board over.


Solder all of the pins. Make sure to resolder the pins you initially soldered to hold the connector in place. Also, check all of the soldering closely. Since there are so many pins, it is easy to solder quickly and make a mistake without noticing. You should see a good dome shape and none of the pad should be visible for each pin.
