Soldering the LEDs

To solder the LEDs to the board, make sure that you place them in the drill holes correctly. Using the silkscreen, insert the shorter lead of each LED into the drill hole near the flat side of the silkscreen, as shown below. This represents the ground side of the diode.


As previously, hold each LED in place with one hand and solder it with the other hand to hold it in place. Once it is in place, resolder both leads. After you have soldered all of the LEDs to the board, you need to cut the excess off. You can cut two leads off at a time, but make sure to cover the clippers with your other hand or wear eye protection.


Once you have clipped off all of the soldered leads, your board should look something like the following.
